An Emergency Service worker does not act unlawfully if their actions are contrary to any law under sections 5 to 12 and their actions are reasonable, justifiable, proportionate and necessary for the effective execution of their duties.
Exemption from charges for acts specified in 12.11, 12.12 and 12.13 are invalid if the Emergency Service worker did not maintain a general regard for the safety of people, property, or possession during the act.
