Section 4: Emergency Services or Elected Officials Conduct

4.4 General Misconduct in a Public Office

Any elected official or government employee who acts dishonestly or not in accordance with the best interests of the city and the Public, or misuses their authority in an attempt to achieve a mere personal gain commits the offence of misconduct in a public office.

Felony – liable to 4 years maximum imprisonment, $5,000 maximum fine and eviction from office.
